EAT, Effective Algebraic Topology, is a special-purpose symbolic software for effective homology computation. The system has been developed since 1990, under the direction of the second author, and now it is equiped with a 240 pages long user guide [1], which has been written by the third author. This guide increases the possibilities of using EAT as a tool for the working algebraic topologist. The system is built on the widely available programming language Common Lisp.
