``CAS is changing the ways teachers deal with extrema problems. Instead of following the traditional steps, treachers are using the symbolic power of CAS to solve the equation dy/dx=0 without explicitly writing either the function y=f(x) or its derivative. Experience with other technologies, such as graphic calculators or interactive geometry, may contribute to different approaches to extrema problems.''
